Tune In Tuesdays: Look Who’s Back, Q From Former Band Josh

We’re highlighting the success of Canadian Bhangra group Jösh this week and how their band member, Q, is back with a single of his own!

The Montreal based South Asian fusion band started over a decade ago in 1996, with four members; the founder, Rup Magon, his brother Rik Magon, Qurram “Q” Hussein and Shiraz “Shazi” Hussain. After about two years, the members branched off but Q and Rup stuck with it.

In the years to come, the duo became wildly popular in Southeast Asia; especially in Pakistan and India. They even collaborated alongside American artist, Nelly Furtado and later joined her on tour. Their blend of hip hop and pop mixed with Desi sounds creates such upbeat music!

Their smashit “Mahi Ve” off their album “Mausam” is still loved and listened to by their fans around the world. The combination of a Sikh and Muslim artist working together made Josh such a unique band and we couldn’t get enough!

This will definitely bring back some memories:

Fast forward to 2017 and we hear Qurram has recently released some new music himself! The brand new single “Turn Up The Music Mr.DJ” is a great comeback for the singer and it definitely has people up on their feet!

Check out the new song here, we can’t wait to hear what else he has in store for us!
