Once Spring/Summer starts, we love grilling outside. Normally, everyone has their favorite which means we end up grilling tons of things. Honey miso shrimp is the only thing that EVERYONE loves. My kids devour it. I think it has to do with the salty and sweet that appeals to everyone or that it has the umami taste. Whatever it is, it is a crowd pleaser. Please feel free to use other proteins besides shrimp. The most obvious being salmon. One of my friends suggested tofu. Let me know if anyone decides to make it with tofu.
This is how I made it:
Mix it all together and then add to raw shrimp.
Let marinate for at least 15 minutes and then grill. Easy peasy!
Honey Miso Shrimp
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 tbs. red miso paste
- 2 tbs. kecap manis
- 1 tbs, garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp ginger, minced
- juice of 1 lime
- 1 lb raw shrimp
- toasted sesame seeds – optional garnish
3. Marinate for 15 minutes up to 24 hours in the fridge.
*Kecap manis is an Indonesian sweet soy sauce.
