Alia Gives It To The Trolls That Parodied Her

Alia Bhatt, the daughter of Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan, is a Bollywood film actress who has made heads turn with her daring roles in the movies and her dim witted answers in a famous Indian talk show, Koffee with Karan. Millions of memes and hilarious tweets took social media by storm and trolled her for quite some time. She was called dumb, stupid, silly, negligent and what not, when she answered one of the most common general knowledge questions incorrectly.

She was overtly condemned by the media for her ignorance to know the basic facts about her own country when she answered that the Indian President is Prithviraj Chavan during the rapid fire round of Karan Johar’s talk show. Media and Indians fumed with rage on this blunder and verbally bashed her black and blue.

But the actress has been strong through all the jibes that admonished her cruelly and taken things in stride. Another volley of twitter attacks was thrown at her when she made some lame statement on feminism and media once again took time out to mock and troll her. But then, Alia was sweet enough to  reply back with appropriate tweets.

Seems like this actress has taken things seriously and started doing her homework. Better still, she chose her acting skills as the weapon to fire back at the audience with her stunning performances in numerous films and proved herself trustworthy and dependable in less than a decade into the industry.

Debuting with Student of the Year with an easy entry into the Indian world of cinema, the actress proved each time that apart from KJo’s role in laying the path for her Bollywood career, sheer hard work and determination to give her best has also played a strong role in carving what she is today.

Bhatt’s choices of films have been varied and unconventional; in fact her ability to slip into the skin of any character, be it a bubbly college girl in 2 States or a terribly exploited drug addict in Udta Punjab, is quite commendable. Bhatt reigned Bollywood’s top charts last year with three major blockbusters, Udta Punjab, Kapoor and Sons and Dear Zindagi, to her kitty, breezing through the roles of Kumari Pinky, Tia and Kaira, respectively, with such ease that it seemed like she had transformed into the character itself in each of these flicks. No wonder she bagged two Filmfare Awards in such a short span and is still quite a promising actor with great acting abilities.

She has also played critically acclaimed roles in films such as Highway, apart from fitting into fun filled entertainers like Badrinath ki Dulhania, Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania, etc.

Although her acting abilities have always put her at par with leading actresses such as Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti Chopra, etc., Alia Bhatt has also carved a niche for herself in the fashion and music industries. She took a plunge into the fashion industry, introducing her own line of clothing for women in association with the online fashion portal Jabong.com.

Her songs “Samjhawan”, “Ikk Kudi”, and “Sooha Saaha” find a place in the playlist of top Bollywood numbers. She has been formally trained in music under the Music Maestro, A.R. Rahman, too.

So, it is proven quite clearly that Alia Bhatt is not some happy-go-lucky, girl next door type of actress, who confines herself only to timid, romantic, damsel-in-distress kind of roles; every film of hers exposes the hard work and efforts put in behind the role enacted on screen and apart from entertaining the audience, leaves out a strong societal message to ponder about.
