This week’s guest happens to be a lady who is a proud mother of a 27 year old, an entrepreneur, and the founder of NKPR (a public relations agency with global reach) – in total, a lady of substance. Our partner, Daniel Pillai, has a quick chat with the very accomplished Natasha Koifman, giving us a glimpse of her journey so far, just to inspire us and stir our concealed dreams into action.
Natasha Koifman, who commenced motherhood at a tender age of 18, was just another clueless woman with responsibilities upon her shoulder and a life to tackle; but through sheer hard work and on her own interest, she explored the public relations sector and decided to trace her career in it. She founded NKPR in 2002 to combine her two passions: shining a spotlight on stories of substance and championing important causes that make a big difference around the world. She transformed NKPR into a full-service public relations, artist management and digital agency that caters to and represents more than 40 diverse national and international brands such as Mulberry, Free People and Liberty Group.
She is recognized as one of Canada’s most powerful and innovative women in public relations and has also been honoured with awards from the Women’s Executive Network (WXN), Notable magazine, BizBash and others. An inspiring speaker and commentator on public relations, marketing, popular culture and fashion, Ms Koifman posts a column for Huffington Post regularly. She also frequently contributes to Entertainment Tonight Canada and Newstalk 1010 radio.
As a true philanthropist, she believes very strongly in giving back to society. Ms Koifman is the Chair of the Board for Artists for Peace and Justice Canada and is on the advisory board in the United States. She has always supported and helped various charities working for improving people’s lives. She has slogged hard to establish herself and now NKPR is one of the most renowned agencies in public relations. Having offices in both cities, Ms Koifman divides her time between Toronto and New York City with equal ease.
She began her career as a journalist in New York and slowly understood the nitty-gritties of public relations and chose to learn and be a part of it. Since then, there has been no turning back for her. She worked her way up to establish NKPR and is now celebrating 15 years of its successful journey. Indeed an inspiration for the upcoming youngsters who are about to commence the journey of tackling life!
