From a rough start of being an ordinary extra in various movies to becoming one of the extraordinary actors of Bollywood, Shahid Kapoor has seen it all. From being the chocolate boy of Bollywood to becoming the sexiest Asian man of 2017 – Shahid Kapoor is becoming more and more exotic as he ages.
It was in the year 1997 that he first was seen as a background dancer in Dil To Pagal Hai and then in Taal in 1999.
He was also seen in a music video by the Aryans “Aankhon Mein” in 1999 and lot of other commercials before making his debut in the romantic comedy Ishq Vishk in 2003.
This film was a hit and he was honored with the Filmfare award for Best Male Debut.
Even after a hit movie, the rough patch in Shahid’s career continued and his movies such as Fida, Dil Maange More, Deewane Huye Paagal, Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi, Shikhar etc. didn’t do much at the box office. He had to wait till Vivah opposite Amrita Rao which went on to become a successful family drama and a commercial hit.
Since then there has been no looking back for him. We loved him as much as Aditya Kashyap in Jab We Met opposite Kareena Kapoor as well as his double role in Kaminey.
Shahid’s performance as an action hero in R…Rajkumar was much appreciated along with his performance in William Shakespeare’s adaptation of Hamlet in Haider and in Udta Punjab where he played rock star, Tommy Singh, who was addicted to drugs.
His highest grossing release so far has been Padmaavat where he played the role of Raja Ratan Singh.
His personal life has been an open book and there had been a number of speculations on his relationship status with many of his co-stars such as Vidya Balan and Priyanka Chopra.
But then he put an end to all of those rumors when he got married to Mira Rajput in a hush-hush wedding in 2015 and was later blessed with a baby girl in 2016. The proud parents named her Misha (Mira + Shahid = Misha. Nice choice there!)
Very often we see Shahid bonding with his wifey and daughter and we just love the three of them together.
Well, Shahid! Your journey in Bollywood has a long long way to go and we would really love to see more of you!
