Jaya Bachchan, one of the most gifted actresses of yesteryear Bollywood, has always left an everlasting imprint on the audience through her vivacious and brilliant performances in the movies. In her first ever movie as an adult, Jaya Bachchan played the role of a 14-year-old girl who was smitten by the Bollywood star Dharmendra. This movie was a big hit, and she bagged the award for the Best Actress for her astounding performance. She became an overnight sensation after this movie.

The best actor is the one who can display emotions without words. In this movie, Jaya Bachchan succeeded in moving the audience without speaking a word. Considered as one of the iconic romantic movies of Bollywood, Silsila, (also touted to be the real-life portrayal of the then-scandalous Amitabh-Jaya-Rekha love triangle) which is still talked about today; is still rated by many as the best movie by Yash Chopra.
