Our beloved comedian, Hasan Minhaj, who is more popular as the correspondent at The Daily News and his Netflix stand-up comedy special Homecoming King is now going to be hosting the year’s most desired awards. Yes, guys! Hasan Minhaj is going to anchor the Peabody Awards and is all set to entertain us and make us laugh till we cry. The Peabody Awards honors the most enlightening and powerful stories in TV, radio, and online media, so it is not a big surprise that Homecoming King got nominated too. Yes! We have double reasons to watch this year’s Peabody awards, which will take place in NYC in May 2018. But you don’t have to wait that long to find if Hassan Minhaj’s show wins the Entertainment category or not. The winners are going to be announced in the next few weeks.
Minhaj’s Homecoming King is quite enthralling and hilarious since he covered his life as an Indian-American. In fact, Netflix loved his work so much that now they have signed him for a 32-episode weekly talk show where Minhaj will be the host. His meteoric rise after he hosted the White House Correspondents Dinner really shows how much favor he found for himself for his remarks on the ‘missing elephant from the room’.
Minhaj is not the only one who will keep us glued to the Peabody Award show. Other famous South Asian actors like Jameela Jamil, Tiya Sircar, Sujata Day, and Aasif Mandvi, also have their shows nominated and we are absolutely proud of them all. Choosing the best show in the Entertainment category is going to be a tough one, and we are so glad that Peabody Awards recognized all these talents and ensured that they are properly honored.
