Coz’ Priyanka Chopra Is Still Ruling The World At 36!!
She calls herself proudly ambitious and destiny’s favorite child. Her name is known to the whole wide world. People call her a synonym for fabulous, a symbol for fineness and a brand in herself. She is none other than Priyanka Chopra, who has turned 36 today. And we celebrate her birthday by talking about her greatest achievements.
Hailing from the small town of Jamshedpur, Priyanka moved to the United States for studies at the age of 13. In America, she volunteered for dancing and singing activities apart from studies. She had desired to become an engineer or psychologist. But after returning to her homeland, she participated in the ‘Femina Miss India’ contest and went on to be crowned Miss World 2000. And seems like she never let that crown go!
Priyanka made her Bollywood debut with Hero and later grabbed attention in her next movie Aitraaz where she played a bold, glamorous role which helped her bag her first Filmfare award. In the span of 18 years, Priyanka has starred in over 60 movies in Bollywood and most of them were box-office successes including Krrish, 7 Khoon Maaf, Fashion, and Barfi.
Her casual hobby i.e. music later turned out to be another major career for Priyanka, as she made a mark as an international singer with her first international music album ‘In My City’ and ‘Exotic’. And thus the gate for Hollywood opened for her and her Hollywood career began with the television series, ‘Quatico’. She later essayed the role of a villain in the Baywatch movie, starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.
Her interviews in various American talk shows and magazines have always been quirky and nonchalant. Her witty answers have impressed people always. She also broke the stereotype thinking of western people about Bollywood. She has given many interesting statements in many of her interviews – such as:
“I’m different. I don’t speak perfect American. I do have a lilt of an Indian accent. I thought, ‘Maybe the worlds not okay with what I bring, being Indian.’
“Don’t try to squeeze into a glass slipper. Instead, shatter the glass ceiling.”
“Guess girls are normally blonde, blue-eyed bombshells. It was nice to be a brunette one.”
“I don’t need a man to buy diamonds.”
She is the third Bollywood celebrity after Amitabh Bachchan and Sharmila Tagore to be the National Ambassador for Child Rights and Adolescence with UNICEF. Her recent visit to Rohingya camps in Bangladesh and meeting Rohingya children shows that she is selfless and caring. She also shed light on her small self-funded foundation which aims at educating kids.

She has always said that she is a private person but her book will be brutally honest when she revealed that she would pen her memoir titled ‘Unfinished’.
