‘The heart wants what it wants,’ and definitely, Selena Gomez has her heart to work in Bollywood and sing songs for A R Rahman. Yes, you heard that right! Gomez recently, while promoting her new film ‘Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation’ interviewed with mid-day and expressed her desire to work Oscar-winner composer A R Rahman.
In an interview, Selena said that she wished to collaborate with Rahman and told the media that she is an ardent fan of Rahman’s work and his composition. She would love to sing one of his compositions as well.
The singer, cum actor, said, Rahman is a global figure today, and he has composed music for Hollywood films such as Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours, Million Dollar Arm, People Like Us and Pele: Birth Of A Legend.
“I like A R Rahman’s work. He is a global figure today,” said the 25-year-old ‘Bad-Lier’ Singer. She also added, “I would love to sing or be a part of his compositions. I think it would be beautiful to sing for a Bollywood movie.”
The ‘Come and Get It’ singer also showed her interest in other Indian music composers as well. Gomez said, “I have been following a few musicians in India, and I believe they are wonderful.”
Selena Gomez became popular after featuring in Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place and starred in movies like Another Cinderella Story, Monte Carlo, Princess Protection Program, and Fundamentals of Caring. She’s also given voice in the Hotel Transylvania series. Selena is also the executive producer of Netflix’s popular series 13 Reasons Why.
She kept mum while asked about her reactions to Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin’s engagement. Bieber and Gomez were earlier in a relationship and if rumors are to be believed, her track ‘Back To You’ is dedicated to her and Bieber’s relationship. They were famously adored as ‘Jelena’ in Hollywood.
