The launch party of Wander Beauty last Thursday was a revelation. Not only was it classy, it was also an insight into the minds of the founders and how much attention to detail they put in their work. The event was attended by various social media influencers. The decor resounded with the brand’s vision of on-the-go skincare and makeup with airplane ride theme, staying true to the founder’s penchant for ‘wanderlust’.
Divya Gugnani, serial entrepreneur & mom of two and Lindsay Ellingson, jet-setting supermodel, spent their days multitasking, but their beauty products weren’t doing the same. They decided to streamline their makeup routines everywhere and downsize their makeup bags by creating multitasking beauty essentials with luxurious ingredients inspired by their travels all over the globe. And that’s how Wander Beauty was born.
Gugnani, alumni of Cornell University, who suffers from autoimmune disease and is allergic to many chemicals met Ellingson at a salon opening in 2014. They bonded over a shared love of travel and beauty and, also, a shared frustration with the kind of products being released in the beauty market. Not long after, they found themselves on Gugnani’s couch, pouring over the details of what would, within a year, become Wander Beauty.
This brand aims to create fewer, better beauty essentials. They believe in a less-is-more philosophy for beauty to create multitasking products that can streamline your beauty routine. They launched the company in April 2015 with just one product, On-The-Glow Blush and Illuminator, a two-sided, multi-use product that adds gorgeous color and luminous warm highlight to any complexion. On one side is a lip and cheek formula, and on the other side is a highlighter.
Currently, they have many other products but their rule stays the same. They are rich in skin-loving ingredients that work with your skin, not against it and are free of all the nasties like phthalates or synthetic fragrances.
