Punjabi-American artist Kay V Singh has teamed up with Canadian singer and songwriter, Simar for his first ever duet! This talented duo recently released a Punjabi pop track titled ‘Mahi Ve Mahi’ and this sweet and fun number is our Tune-in-Tuesdays of the week!
‘Mahi ve Mahi’ is the first single from Singh’s upcoming album, “K. O. (Knock Out).” This addicting composition of the track was by A2 Too Fire and it was executive produced by Harwin Kanan and Shubh Singh. Kay V Singh not only sang on the track but he also wrote the lyrics and directed the music video.
The music video stars the gorgeous Simar and handsome Singh as they tease each other to confess their love for each other. The video and song is simple and clean, which is refreshing in a music scene that is overwhelmingly powered by flashy cars and scantily clad girls in a night club. ‘Mahi ve Mahi’ is filled with joy, love, and summer fun—along with some skilled professional dancers.
It is not just a fun track, but it highlights the talents of rising star, Simar.
She is a Toronto based English and Punjabi singer and songwriter. You may recognize her melodious voice from Fateh’s phenomenal album “To Whom It May Concern.” This lovely multi-talented artist is still new to the music scene but have no doubt that she is hard at work to leave her mark.
Singh on the other hand has been able to create a name for himself in the industry in a short time. Born in India and raised in the United States, Singh knows how to take the best of both worlds when it comes to urban desi fusion. He has been musically inclined from a young age and the mainly self taught singer and song writer took a stab at the Punjabi music scene a few years ago.
The artist began his career with songs like ‘Gori Diyan Jhanjran’ with Goyal Music Records and ‘Eina Tainu Chawan’ with Gurmani Music Records. However, it was his track ‘Bullet’ with Speed Records that shot him to stardom in the urban desi music scene.
‘Mahi ve Mahi’ is sure to join his list of hits. Check out the video below and let us know what you think!
