Tune In Tuesdays – Sibtain Khalid Drops ‘Nai Jeena’
This Tune-in-Tuesdays we are taking you all the way to Lahore, Pakistan for this sweet track by Sibtain Khalid, ‘Nai Jeena.’ The love song has already created quite the buzz surpassing half a million views in 6 days and was even trending on YouTube Music!
‘Nai Jeena’ is a wholesome love song that will tug at your heartstrings. The music video is just as sweet featuring Khalid and the lovely British Pakistani model and actress, Sabeeka Iman as his lady love. It portrays an innocent love story of a young man wooing his love with rides on the back of his motorcycle. There’s no over the top masala in this story, no backup dancers or flashy cars, just a simple and realistic love story.
The story was brought to life by director Rizwan Sherazi. He has worked with some of Pakistan’s finest artists like Sajjad Ali, EP, Call, Jal, Noori, and Sheraz Uppal, and he has directed almost over 400 music videos.
‘Nai Jeena’ is just Khalid’s second original song. His first ‘Sajna’ was also well received by audiences. Sibtain Khalid is a multi-talented artist who wrote, composed and sang ‘Nai Jeena.’ Like many before him, Khalid began his singing career releasing covers of hit songs and adding his own twist to it. He slowly began releasing original music through the Nescafe Basement series, a YouTube series that promotes fresh, raw talent from all over Pakistan by giving them a platform to showcase their talent. He is currently working on an album that will be releasing soon.
Rising Qawwali singing group, Zain and Zohaib supported Khalid on the vocals of the track. These young stars are working to keep the beautiful legacy of Qawwali singing alive in the next generation.
Imam has also made a name for herself through her work modeling on the runway for popular designers. She launched her acting career with British Pakistani host and actor, Asad Shan’s film “7 Welcome to London.” She went on to a small roll in the hit Bollywood film, “Queen,” and starred in Pakistani films like “Sherdil” and “Jalaibee.” Imam has also starred in numerous music videos for singers like Pakistani actor and singer Farhan Saeed and internationally acclaimed Pakistani pop-rock band, Strings.
