The Royal Wedding Of Devika Bhise Of “The Warrior Queen Of Jhansi” Fame

Devika Bhise, who recently starred in the motion picture “The Warrior Queen of Jhansi,” married her sweetheart Nicholas Gilson in a lavish February affair in Udapair, India. Gilson is a snowboard and ski developer.

Designer Tarun Tahiliani personally draped the bride in her wedding sari. The bride also wore an Oscar de la Renta gown. She selected ensembles from Anita Dongre for the Sangeet ceremony and Vidhi Singhania for the Haldi ceremony. Mickey Contractor, a legend with a keen palette sense, was the makeup artist for the bride, with whom he’s worked for four years.

Henna artists for the bride created classic miniature paintings on her hands and legs instead of the usual floral motifs. An elephant showered the groom and his party upon their arrival at the event.

The Leela Palace on Lake Pichola, voted by Travel + Leisure readers as the world’s top hotel in 2019 and selected as a Conde Nast gold list hotel in 2020, was the site of the wedding ceremony and celebration. The event, whose invitees came from around the globe, was a three-day traditional affair. A reception was held in Goa, after the three-day wedding.

Swati Bhise, the bride’s mother, called on her film producer experience to plan and execute first-of-its-kind frequent décor and set changes at the venue, which were carried out by a film production team. Design and décor were provided by Dhun Cordo of Full Moon Creative Services.
