“Dil Bechara” – Our Farewell To Sushant Singh Rajput

Sushant SIngh Rajput - Dil Bechara

While this is not a movie review, instead, it is a farewell to Sushant Singh Rajput and closure for us. Mukesh Chhabra’s directorial debut leaves us with the constant lingering thought that Rajput is no more. His smile, the twinkle in his eyes, his charm, all are depicted with such ease that it makes it hard for us to acknowledge that he is gone.

With a backdrop in Jamshedpur where both leads strike up a beautiful bond one with osteosarcoma and one with thyroid cancer the two constantly remind you to celebrate life. Manny (played by Sushant Singh Rajput) charms his way into Kizie’s (played by Sanjana Sanghi) world and together they walk this journey.

Jisne mujhe hasna sikhaya voh mere samne ro raha tha, chilla raha tha.  Aur main phir kuch nahi kar payi.

Dil Bechara

An adaptation of the book ‘The Fault In Our Stars,’ “Dil Bechara” is overall a simple and wholesome story. The acting of newcomer Sanjana Singh as Kizie is on par along with Rajput as Manny, and one feels an immense emotional tug in the last twenty minutes of the film leaving you once again disheartened.

While watching the film, I am reminded with a heavy heart how fine of an actor he was and his work is commendable. We only wish that he knew his worth.  We wish that mental health and or lack of is one day given the importance it deserves.  Depression is real folks, so much is at stake, and yet we often get fooled by a smile.

Watch this film to witness Sushant’s final act.  With this, we at DissDash bid our farewell to Sushant Singh Rajput and hope he is smiling because the world is going to admire his work once again.

Stay tuned for our detailed review #FirstLookWithNeha.
