It’s a quarantine summer so, like me, you’re life is surely falling apart. Thank goodness for good music to keep me going. This month I’ve curated a list of July releases that you need to add to your playlist. These artists from around the world are stepping up their game to bring something unique to their fans this summer while we’re all stuck at home. These songs are worth a listen.
Mickey Singh’s ‘Crowd’
This kid is on a roll! Punjabi-American artist, Mickey Singh released 4 songs back to back telling a love story through his music and music videos. The story begins with ‘Black Suit’ followed by ‘Teri Meri’ and the breakup number ‘All by Myself.’ He wrapped up the story with his latest release ‘Crowd.’ All four songs are worth a listen for sure.
Asim Azhar’s ‘Soneya’
Pakistan’s Asim Azhar was a teen heartthrob who has grown into a phenomenal star worthy of praise. Whether he is gracing the small screen on your favorite television show or blessing your ears with dope music, and Asim Azhar is a must-have in your playlist. His latest song, ‘Soneya’ is a modern heartbreak anthem that has an R&B vibe. He not only sings but also composed the track with lyrics written by Kunaal Verma. The song hit 1.7 million views in just 3 days!
Twinbeatz’s ‘Lehnge Vich’
Twinbeatz has been blessing our playlists with some solid music all through quarantine. These twins just keep getting better with every track, and every adorable new music video. This sweet love song stars models Sukhi Mann and Anamika Dubb in the music video.
Rhea Raj’s ‘Someone Else’
New York-based Rhea Raj dropped this soulful number about being in love with someone else when you’re with another. This confusing love triangle is beautifully told by Raj. She shot the music video in some of her favorite spots in NYC while staying socially distant from others and wearing a mask while not shooting.
Hash’s ‘Tere Bin’
Australian artist Hash dropped this latest song, ‘Tere Bin.’ True to his eclectic taste in music he tends to blend genres like EDM, R&B, and a touch of Eastern musical flavors. This number is all about losing yourself in the love of another, like an artist with his muse.
Abhisting’s ‘Wind Up’ featuring Neel
Indian American artists Neel and Abhisting team up for this new track titled ‘Wind Up.’ both of these artists have been working hard the past few years to make their place in the Urban Asian Music industry and they seem to be improving over time. This track is one of the best we’ve seen from Abhisting with its upbeat catchy vibes. Neel as usual, adds a unique touch to the track with some Hindi lyrics in his melodious voice.
Premz featuring Wavy Boy Smith and Ayo Beatz in ‘Bollywood, Hollywood, Nollywood’
Premz is a British Asian rapper who has amassed over two million views of his music internationally. Premz has teamed up with British artists Wavy Boy Smith and Ayo Beatz for his latest track, ‘Bollywood, Hollywood, Nollywood.’ These three stars have been working together for many years, but for the first time, you will hear them all rap on one song! Each artist brings a touch of their own culture as well, ‘Bollywood, Hollywood, and Nollywood’ refers to the heart of the Indian, American, and Nigerian entertainment industries, respectively. Definitely add this one to your playlist.
