Fresh young artist Avanti has dropped a stunning new song titled ‘The Long Way’ that highlights diverse couples overcoming adversity during this pandemic. This beautiful new track is our Tune-in-Tuesdays of the week!
Avanti is an intelligent young artist who focuses on creating music with a purpose. She aims to change the narrative with her music, especially encouraging young girls to challenge their own boundaries, to reclaim how they view themselves. After the success of her pop-dance track ‘Sneaking Around,’ she has just released the anthemic track and video for ‘The Long Way.’ This time the track emphasizes crossing boundaries in love and taking the long route in long-distance love. Avanti’s single has already garnered over 50K views and many positive reviews. The video was shot virtually during quarantine across India, Vietnam, and America. The pop singer even included her own beau in the video! ‘The Long Way’ is a soft pop song with a mid-tempo beat. It is wholesome and pure in its message of love transcending all borders. It was produced by Austin Armstrong and mastered by Bhushan Govikar. The soulful track was written by Natania, a writer who has worked with the likes of Jesse McCartney, Armaan Malik, Prime Video, and more.
“Going ‘The Long Way’ for love means facing backlash from your family/friends/community,” Avanti states about her track. “Sometimes it means dealing with distance or a pandemic, but every single time it means fighting for it.”
The music video directed by Altamash Jaleel is filled with sweet romantic moments between three real-life couples. Golden Milk Media teamed up with Jaleel along with cinematographer Neeraj Jain, Editor/producer Parth R. and executive producer Jashima Wadehra for this music video. The video stars Avanti and her partner, Stephan. As an interracial couple the duo has faced their own set of hardships, but to add to that they are in a long-distance relationship where these beautiful souls travel between Bombay, Boston, and Vietnam.
The video features Philadelphia based couple Kerry-Anne and Mike, who are navigating a wedding in the midst of a pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement. The couple is also frontline workers and recently went viral when joining BLM protests with fists of solidarity after their wedding. The video also features New Jersey-based Amit and Aditya, who are creative directors, dancers, and content creators. The duo has continued to challenge socio-culture norms and advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community through art. These couples had some epic weddings, Kerry-Anne and Mike’s wedding at a BLM protest was featured in The New York Times, Vogue, and several other major publications.
