Dev Patel Loses Out On Emmys But Wins Hearts With “India From Above”

India From Above - Dev Patel

Dev Patel may have lost out on this year’s Emmys for his guest appearance in ‘Modern Love’ but we will never get enough of him! It was a joy to see him, in and as, David Copperfield, but have you seen or rather heard him on the National Geographic documentary “India From Above?”

It is epic!

“India From Above” is a big-budget documentary that focuses on India’s geography, demographics, culture, and history using beautifully shot and recorded pictures and video clips made by the state-of-the-art drone technology. The show features the former star of “Slumdog Millionaire” Dev Patel, as the commentator for the show who guides us through the beautiful country.

“India From Above” received positive feedback from its creators and cast, as seen from the interviews made by other press members in the months following its release. “From the magnificent display of devotion at the world’s largest religious gathering of Kumbh festival to the stunning spectacle of the monumental solar plant in Tamil Nadu, National Geographic’s bird’ s-eye view truly reveals the best of India. In an age when India has the technology to launch missions into space, the series also highlights how the nation is careful to preserve the unique techniques pioneered in its rich heritage,” a press release from National Geographic said.

Anuradha Aggarwal, Head – Infotainment, English, and Kids, Star India, said that the show is a part of the channel’s global series that seeks to showcase different parts of the world from a new perspective. “With “India from Above,” we are all set to unveil some never-before-seen visuals of our country using cutting-edge aerial cinematography. The compelling narrative accompanies the stunning vistas by globally celebrated actor Dev Patel about diverse facets of the lives of our 1.3 billion people,” she said.

Patel is expected to be seen next in “The Green Knight,” a historical drama directed by David Lowery.
