Somehow we’ve all made it to September of this wretched year, but there’s nothing like good music to keep you going. With cities slowly and cautiously opening up we’ve got some hot September releases to start off the cool senti season. These must-haves for your playlist are a great addition to that workout song list you created but never used because who actually works out during quarantine, really though?
There was quite a lot of songs released this past month, so we’ve picked out some unique tracks from some versatile artists that will bring a breath of fresh air to your playlist. Check it out!
1. Hashky’s ‘Aag’
Australian artist Hashky dropped his latest track, ‘Aag.’ The song is a raw hip hop track with a catchy beat produced by Josh Petruccio and Hashky himself. Hashky throws in some spoken words between his lyrics that set fire to the track. His deep baritone voice flows well with the beat – this may be one of his best tracks yet.
2. Dixi is ‘Livin” it up!
Indian American singer and doctor, Dixi Patel has been slowly building her fanbase with one fabulous track after another. The latest from this versatile diva is a Spanish inspired track titled ‘Livin.” She sings in not just English and Hindi but Spanish as well. Patel has been sitting on this track for some time and has finally blessed our ears with its release. She shot much of the video during her earlier trips to Palma De Mallorca, Spain, and Mission District, San Francisco.
3. LCGOTTHIS releases ‘Jaan’
Anonymous British artist, LCGOTTHIS released a heartfelt summer jam titled ‘Jaan.’ The Punjabi trap anthem showcases LC GOT THIS’ skills well and was inspired by the lyrics of another British Asian star, Raxstar, and his hit song ‘Jaaneman.’ Like the original track, the inspiration behind the lyrics is derived from a relationship in which there is mistrust and also no clarity on the status, yet the feelings co-exist with love.
4. RAAG releases ‘Malika’
Following the success of his debut single ‘YOU’, Belgium based artist RAAG has released a Moroccan and French-inspired summer anthem titled ‘Malika.’ RAAG describes the song as a “light-hearted romantic anthem with a summer vibe” that celebrates the beauty of women. RAAG has a history of experimentation with Bollywood, Punjabi, Urban, Afro, and Dutch sounds. Inspired by his travels across the globe, RAAG and producer Myze worked to create a global track.
5. Amar Sandhu and UpsideDown bring you ‘Dekhi Dekhi’
Indian American artists, Amar Sandhu has released numerous tracks in September – the man is on a roll! ‘Dekhi Dekhi’ is about relationships not ending well, and the video features everyone’s worst nightmare, a stalker ex-girlfriend. Besides this catchy heartbreak track, he has also released ‘Dhoor’ with Pranna, ‘Mood’ with DJ Harpz, ‘Proper Punjabi’ featuring Joty Kay in the music video and ‘Saturday’ with DJ Lyan. Quarantine is not holding this artist back!
6. Roma Sagar and Raxstar’s ‘In the Club’
The lovely Roma Sagar has released a hot new track titled ‘In the Club’ featuring the urban desi rap legend, Raxstar. The duo has created quite the track, and their unique voices and styles have melded seamlessly together. Produced by DJ Lyan, the song’s vocals and lyrics are by Sagar and Raxstar. For those who may not be familiar with Sagar, she is a young singer who debuted just a few years ago with Rishi Rich’s ‘Tere Bin (I Just Want).’ A classically trained singer she is versatile and has already worked with India’s top record label, T-Series, as well as veteran urban desi artists like Ikka, H-Dhami, Kuwar Virk, Desicrew, and more.
