The #BernieSanders meme fest has become one of the most viral content in the recent past. The inauguration ceremony may have put President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris on the center stage, but as the day ended, everyone was caught in the whirlwind that a single image of US Senator Bernie Sanders generated! Sanders appeared on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers,’ and said about the viral picture, “I was just sitting there trying to keep warm, trying to pay attention to what was going on.”
And obviously, South Asian celebs joined in too. Alongside celebrating Kamala Aunty, everyone was just too happy to include Mr. Sanders in their social media posts and joining in the trend. Here are a few that caught our eye and left us giggling along with everybody!

The first shows him seated on a pink chair, the other has him standing next to a photoshopped image of Sanders on the chair that was captioned, ‘Because Sanskar…#berniesanders’. Talking about it to Hindustan Times, Malhotra said, “I enjoy innovative memes and when the Bernie Sanders memes began to take over the internet, I decided to join in!”
Well maybe we all just remembered our own grandpas at that moment, but here’s what Deepika Padukone posted and Ranveer Singh made sure he had the perfect comment for it too! (“Namak zara kam daalna beti”)
