Italian luxury brand, Bvlgari has signed on actress, author, producer, entrepreneur, and Unicef Goodwill Ambassador, Priyanka Chopra-Jonas as their latest brand ambassador. The 39-year-old star is the first Indian woman to be a global ambassador for the brand. Chopra-Jonas said she took on the role as she is inspired by Bvlgari’s charity work.
“I endeavor to align myself with brands that recognize their immense social responsibility. Bvlgari has made a great impact in their efforts to support children in need around the world, and I look forward to working together to continue that work.”‘
The luxury brand has also signed on Eiza Gonzalez as their first Latin American ambassador, the actress was equally thrilled at the opportunity as she is proud to be the first Latina to represent the company. Women of color like Chopra-Jonas and Gonzalez are not often seen in the ads and billboards of such companies and their inclusion inspires a new generation of dreamers. These talented ladies join Zendaya and Lily Aldridge as global ambassadors in the company’s efforts to focus on the themes of female empowerment, diversity, and inclusion.
Chopra-Jonas wrote on her Instagram that she felt at home with Bvlgari due to their deep connection with India. “The house of Bvlgari and India have a long, rich history with many of their gems being sustainably sourced from my home country,” she tells us. “This is something I connected on very deeply with the brand, and it makes me feel so proud to represent the beauty of India in this small way.”
“As a young actor, looking up at the international stars of film like Elizabeth Taylor and Sophia Loren who have long been the muses of Bvlgari,” Chopra-Jonas told Harper’s Bazaar. “It’s a dream that now I get to work with such an iconic house and follow in their footsteps.”
Just as choosing Bvlgari was an easy choice for Chopra-Jonas, the decision to partner with Chopra was just as seamless for Bvlgari CEO, Jean-Christophe Babin.
“India holds a special place in our hearts at Bvlgari, since it doesn’t only offer us a continuous source of inspiration, but this rich, incredible land provides us with some of the most precious gems of nature to craft our creations, from jewelry to fragrances,” he said in a statement. “I’m beyond excited that Priyanka is joining our family. With her beauty, talent, and humanitarian commitment, she is an inspiring role model for millions of women in the world. I’m sure that together we will develop exciting projects, with a significant social impact.”
We can’t wait to see what challenges Chopra-Jonas and Bvlgari take on with their mutual sense of social responsibility.
