Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon star in the hit Apple TV show, ‘The Morning Show.’ The captivating series just released the season 2 trailer and lucky for us we catch a quick glimpse of their latest addition, Hasan Minhaj!
Deadline announced Minhaj joining the cast late last year, and now with the release of the trailer, we finally get to see him in action. Minhaj has been cast as Eric, a charismatic rising star who joins the breakfast news program.
The premise of season one follows UBA network’s ‘The Morning Show’ star, Alex Levy played by Jennifer Anniston. The show follows Alex as she maneuvers the dismissal of her on-air partner of 15 years following a sexual misconduct scandal and fights to stay in the game with the rise of a fresh new anchor, Bradley Jackson, played by Reese Witherspoon. At the end of season 1, Alex has a dramatic exit from The Morning Show but it looks like she’s making a fierce comeback in season 2. The cast also includes Steve Carell, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Bel Powley, Karen Pittman, Desean Terry, Greta Lee, and Ruairi O’Connor. The juicy off-air drama had fans hooked on this series, it even took home multiple Emmys and Golden Globe Awards. Aniston also won the SAG award for best actress in a drama series.
Known for his work on “The Daily Show” and hosting “The Patriot Act” Minhaj has actual experience working as an anchor for a show. The comedian and actor has built a name for himself these past few years with his ambitious projects, joining “The Morning Show” and sharing the small screen with such talented stars is a testament to his own abilities. Recently Minhaj sat down with Google TV for an episode on Instagram about which films and shows shaped his upbringing and career. He has also been working with Made Well Menswear and a 52 city comedy show tour.
