She stripped off for the photoshoot, with the word “mine” written all over her naked body in black ink. She shared the new campaign with her 460,000 followers and urged her fans to start showing themselves some love.

“I’m so so excited to launch my own wee social media campaign called #Ilovemine.

“It’s time to stop giving our ‘likes’ to other people and to start liking ourselves. We deserve to celebrate ourselves. I want us all to start celebrating what we like and love about ourselves.”

With filters and apps to hide any perceived flaws, the pressure on young women to create a perfect image of themselves to show the world has never been more intense.

Also as the influencer culture exploded in the past few years, with beautiful people paid by advertisers to share their aspirational lives with their followers, people’s beauty expectations have risen manifold.

Shannon Singh wants to bust this phenomenon by promoting body positivity. She wants people to love their real-life in all its different shades, using Instagram to spread the message.
