It has been a sensational Sunday in India. A cruise boat, a rave party, and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan‘s son Aryan Khan being detained by the Mumbai police.

23-year-old Aryan Khan was arrested following a raid on a cruise party off the coast of Mumbai last night by the Narcotics Control Bureau or NCB. He was among eight people questioned, Khan denied purchasing drugs, and all the detainees are awaiting medical examination. News reports also state other detainees include children of a few business honchos of India.

There were several live DJ performances that were slated to take place on the cruise. Miami-based DJ Stan Kolev along with famous DJs Bullzeye, Browncoat, and Deepesh Sharma were expected to perform, as reported by India Today. A pool party as well as “FTV’s Champagne all-black party” was also organized for the guests.

“On the basis of specific information, the officials of NCB Mumbai conducted a raid on Cordelia cruise which was bound from Mumbai to Goa on 02.10.2021. During the operation, all suspects as per the information were searched for various drugs like MDMA/ Ecstasy, Cocaine, MD (Mephedrone), and charas has been recovered,” a statement issued by the NCB said on Sunday morning.

The latest information as per the news reports states that criminal counsel Satish Maneshinde will represent Aryan Khan. Notably, he represented Rhea Chakraborty too in a drugs case in 2020 and defended Sanjay Dutt in the Mumbai blast case.

Aryan Khan reportedly did his schooling from London’s Sevenoaks and later went to the University of Southern California. He recently gave his voice to the character of ‘Simba’ in the Hindi version of “The Lion King” movie in which Shah Rukh Khan rendered his voice for Mufasa.

The huge controversy last year after actor Sushant Singh’s death and the subsequent discovery of the underground drug cartel in Bollywood – the NCB seems to have been keeping a close watch.

With the GenZ of Bollywood stepping into their parent’s shoes they are also stepping into their set of controversies. We will have to wait and how this case pans out as we await the decision of the court about granting judicial custody to the police.
