3 'Love Nwantiti' Desi Remakes You Can't Miss!

‘Love Nwantiti’ has become a viral TikTok dance today but this is a 2019 track by Nigerian singer and songwriter CKay, from his second album ‘Ckay The First.’ Known for his dancehall, Afro-beats, and R&B music, CKay takes a turn from his usual,  to create this sweet love song with a blend of lo-fi and Afro-beats. The popular track spanned the globe and somewhere along the way it hit TikTok and transformed into an addictive dance challenge.

Millions have reposted their versions of the dance, but now we bring you new versions of the song! The popularity of the song has already led to a 2020 remix featuring Nigerian signer Joeboy and Ghanaian singer Kuami Eugene. British Bangladeshi artist, Nish adds a little Bengali flavor to this hot trend! The young singer is a skilled performer and absolutely nails it. My only complaint is that this isn’t a whole song! Just at the start of the pandemic, Nish took a break from singing due to treatment for cancer so it is fantastic to see him hop back in the game stronger than ever. Recently he has been posting a string of Bengali remakes of popular western songs such as BTS’ latest, a collaboration with Coldplay titled ‘My Universe,’ definitely don’t miss it.

2. Dixi

The stunning Dixi recreated the TikTok trend with a Punjabi twist. The Indian-American doctor and artist is a classically trained singer who brings a level of elegance to all that she does. Her melodious voice definitely took this song to new heights. This diva is out here saving lives and looking good doing it!  Be sure to check out her latest song, ‘Nai Jeena’ where she channels her inner Disney Princess in the music video. Don’t sleep on my girl, Dixi.

The urban desi legend himself, Jay Sean hopped on the ‘Love Nwantiti’ trend as well! Sean dropped a Hindi remake with lyrics written by singer, songwriter, and producer Kiranee. We don’t get to hear Jay Sean sing in Hindi as often so this remake is definitely a treat for die-hard fans. Jay Sean as been quietly making moves in not just music, the singer-songwriter has just launched his first alcoholic beverage, SmoothSail sparkling Sake. Sean’s ‘Ride It’ just won another award for ‘Most Performed Songs of the Year’ at the BMI London Awards 2021!
