New York City South Asian Film Festival (NYC SAFF), presented for the second time by Toyota North America, will showcase 22 finely-curated shorts, documentaries, and feature films over a span of three days (October 22nd to 24th) at the Helen Mills Event Space & Theater in Chelsea (137-139 West 26th St, between 6th and 7th Avenues).
NYC SAFF boasts of four world premieres, seven North American premieres, and 11 New York premieres. “For our first physical festival post-pandemic, we were especially selective about finding stories that would lift spirits and provide inspiration,” said SAFF’s Festival Director Jitin Hingorani. “For a year and a half now, festival-goers have been consuming cinema-worthy content on their laptops and cell phones. We needed to program the kind of films that would give them a reason to leave their homes and join us in the theaters again.” All COVID guidelines, including requiring vaccination cards and face masks, are being followed while at the festival.

Not competent enough to sit idle and stare as the world goes by, Pallavi is optimistic to a fault and believes in building her world on her own rather than depending on others to make things right.
