In an exclusive interview with DissDash, Director Ayan Mukerji spoke about how he took an unprecedented amount of time to make this unprecedented movie! BRAHMĀSTRA- the Trilogy, is a 3-part film franchise and the beginning of India’s first original universe – the Astraverse.
It is a new original cinematic universe inspired by deeply rooted concepts and tales in Indian mythology but set in the modern world, with epic storytelling of fantasy, adventure, good vs evil, love, and hope; all told using cutting edge technology and never-seen-before visual spectacles.

Mukherjee made his directorial debut at the age of 26 with the coming-of-age comedy “Wake Up Sid” (2009), produced by Karan Johar. The film opened to strong reviews and box-office returns. His next release, the 2013 musical romantic comedy-drama, “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani”, ranks among the highest-grossing Hindi films ever.
The most anticipated Bollywood epic “Brahmastra”, became the first film ever to unveil its logo at Kumbh Mela in India and stars Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor plus director Ayan Mukerji were on hand for the exclusive reveal.
150 drones lit up the night sky to premiere the logo for the magnum opus which also stars Amitabh Bachchan and releases in theaters across North America this Christmas.
Apart from Ranbir and Alia, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Tollywood actor Nagarjuna. It is the first part of a sci-fi trilogy.

It was not just a poster release but something that was literally out of the world. On the occasion of Mahashivratri and culmination of the Ardh Kumbh Mela, the makers of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt-starrer “Brahmastra” unveiled the logo of the film. The actors of the film had earlier shared cryptic messages piquing the curiosity of their fans by revealing that they have something special planned for the day.
