Deepika Padukone is on a winning streak! The actor first appeared in the pre-fall 2020 campaign of Louis Vuitton, bringing the Indian face an inch closer to posters worldwide. Now, the brand has announced the prolific Bollywood actor as its ‘House Ambassador.’
Days before she returns to the Cannes Film Festival, this time as a member of the main jury, this honor by the famous French label, has definitely added more shine to her persona. Padukone is one of the biggest stars in India, and with this title, she will be joining the likes of Hollywood stars Emma Stone, Alicia Vikander, Lea Seydoux, and Sophie Turner.
In her cover interview with Vogue on her association with the brand, Deepika Padukone said, “When you’re 18 and have just started earning, you don’t even bother looking into a Louis Vuitton store when you walk past it because you know you’re never going to be able to afford it. There are some things that are aspirational and then there are some things that are just completely out of your orbit. My association with Louis Vuitton is the latter. I’m a very practical, pragmatic person in reality, but I keep having to pinch myself because I can’t believe this is real. And it speaks to the kind of diversity I hope to see in the future.”
This time around, actor, producer, philanthropist, and entrepreneur, Deepika Padukone will be at the Cannes Film Festival not as a L’Oreal ambassador but as a member of the jury. The panel for the festival was recently unveiled and it will be headed by French actor Vincent Lindon, who won Best Actor at Cannes in 2015. With over 30 feature films to her credit, she made her Hollywood debut as the female lead in “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage,” co-starring with Vin Diesel. She is also the principal of Ka Productions, the production company behind “Chhapaak” and “‘83,” in which she also starred, as well as the upcoming film “The Intern.” Credits include “Gehraiyaan” and “Padmaavat,” as well as the award-winning and critically acclaimed film “Piku.”
In 2015, she set up The Live Love Laugh Foundation, whose programs and initiatives aim to destigmatize mental illness and raise awareness about the importance of mental health. In 2018, Time Magazine named her one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World.
Becoming the ‘House Ambassador’ of Louis Vuitton is definitely the right next step in Padukone’s path of success.

Not competent enough to sit idle and stare as the world goes by, Pallavi is optimistic to a fault and believes in building her world on her own rather than depending on others to make things right.
