DissDash presents Tune-in-Tuesdays with @MontyIsLive | Episode 54
We have 5 latest music videos from the world of Bollywood, Urban Desi, Punjabi, and the overall global South Asian independent scene all creatively curated just for you!
1) ‘The Ride’ – Kamal Raja
Mongolian and Pakistani descent, based in the Netherlands, Kamal Raja always comes up with music that he knows will resonate with his fans. And his latest track ‘The Ride’ does exactly that. Since his initial releases, this track is his original and authentic Kamal Raja swag which is in your face lyrics, ATVs, luxury brands, deserts, gold chains, tattoos, and it puts you in that music video trance through the entire duration of the song. The production by Jazz Gill is gone on another level, without a doubt and we feel more people need to be speaking about this kid. Jazz is a vocalist as well and he too has a bunch of releases that should be checked out.
2) ‘Jhoom’ (R&B version) – Ali Zafar
‘Jhoom’ initially released as Ali Zafar’s 3rd studio album way back in 2011. And as he mentions it, the only thing that separates in our perception of reality, beyond that its the freedom of love expressing itself through music. Social media at times makes brand new cringe music videos but social media here, is supporting meaningfully massive music and we are here for valid reason. And now we are welcoming all that again. Ali Zafar is one of the biggest names in the Pakistani film and music industry. He has been on somewhat of a break but he is back, and here to stay. Music has no language and no biases whatsoever.
3) ‘Rangisari’ – JugJugg Jeeyo
Can Bollywood really survive without remix? We do not think so. The latest family masala film to be released that has the entire 9 yards of Bollywood is Karan Johar’s Jugjug Jeeyo starring Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and Bollywood’s unnecessary actress Kiara Advani. Singer Kavita Seth originally sang ‘Rangsaari’ a contemporary rendition of late classical singer’s Shobha Gurtu’s popular song was released last year in collaboration with her son Kanishk Sheth. And now it has a Bollywood version with Varun and Kiara in a club. When we first came to know this song was going to be remade, we didn’t want to hear it, but also wanted to know how they’d keep it lacklustre to the original. You cannot get away from the original because it is so beautiful. But adding it to a club kind of added to it, while still keeping the essence alive. Overall, it is not that bad.
4) ‘Aaj Phir Kyu’ – Anupam Mukherjee
Indipop is slowly finding its viewership and overall its presence back in the music industry. Upcoming artist Anupam Mukherjee with not just talent of vocals but also their presentation and a step beyond that is the visuals which go absolutely hand-in-hand with the music is of utmost importance. Anumpan’s voice, lyrics and composition is bliss. The leads of the video smash the loving vibe of this song. We want to hear more of Anupam Mukherjee.
A special tribute to KK – ‘Pyaar Ke Pal’
This is one of our favourite tracks by KK, who left this world behind for a better place last week.

Not competent enough to sit idle and stare as the world goes by, Pallavi is optimistic to a fault and believes in building her world on her own rather than depending on others to make things right.
