1. ‘Baller’ – Fateh & Straight Bank

Straight Back from Killer Queens and Fateh DEO go ham! This EP ‘Long Story Short’, the audio bops for real. These two guys are releasing videos on the regular and they prove the point even further. If you haven’t heard straight back, we urge you to check him out right now. Matter of factly, the overall album deserves a lesson. Fateh is someone who you can’t really ignore, not because he got bars but there is certain type of genuineness and honesty even when he is spitting bars that hard. Straight Back is definitely here to stay!

2. ‘Never Sleep’ – NAV, Lil Baby feat. Travis Scott

We take this up a notch a little. The video is absolutely great. We have Lil Baby, NAV and Scott, all the right hands, calling shots, going all in and chilling with pocket aces in their hands. NAV is definitely the first brown guy to get it popping, at least in the current hip hop. This rapper, singer, writer and record producer began his career by coproducing in 2015 and completely cornered mainstream attention in 2016 when his song ‘Myself’ went viral. Fame did not come easy to him, for sure. He has the talent, connections and the hustle to make the grooves. He has come a long way from one round to another, thank you Paaji for doing exactly what you are doing.

3. ‘Hanji Hanji’ – Amrit Maan Ft. The PropheC

When there is Amrit Mann, The PropheC and Ezu on the beat, it is supposed to be fire right? But we are not too sure about that. The song flows, track moves on, the video is honestly just there. Overall the track feels like it was conceptualised and executed a while ago and is rushed and put together for the sake of it. We are all for music when there are desi artists all over the world but we 1000% expected more from this. Amrit Mann with PropheC in ‘My Moon’ is a song that we actually liked.

4. ‘Mazaak’ – Anuv Jain

If you have heard ‘Baarishein’ by Anuv Jain and still a fan, we respect you. But there is so much more that this man has. So many more songs, so much of joy and heart that he pours out and shares with everyone. The simpler songs definitely strike more than just a few chords on your insides. Empty your mind and give this song a listen with awe.

5. ‘She is a Hero’ – Shruti Haasan, MC Altaf, Karan Kanchan & Karan Parikh

For those who don’t know, Shruti Hassan is an amazing singer and songwriter. ‘She’s a Hero’ showcases exactly what she can do. MC Altaf and Shruti Hassan from two different worlds come together so fluently. This is only possible with a track that has such a powerful message. The production talent here from Karan Kanchan is easily one of our favourite producers right now. We are not going to say much, you just watch the track.
