Binge-worthy OTT Shows For The Holiday Season

The holiday season is here and all the OTT platforms are dishing out spectacular binge-worthy shows to make sure you never have a dull moment. Here are a few that you should definitely check out.
Welcome to Chippendales on Hulu
The multi-talented Kumail Nanjiani brings to life the American dream in Hulu’s latest project, “Welcome to Chippendale’s.” The limited series, previously titled “The Immigrant” follows the life of Chippendale’s founder Somen “Steve” Bannerjee. Nanjiani shared that his role has been unlike anything else he has played and it has been tolling playing a man so stiff and tightly coiled. The dark comedy thriller will definitely test Nanjiani’s skills and we have no doubt he will succeed in doing it justice.
Qala on Netflix
The period drama tells the story of a female playback singer (Triptii Dimri) set in the 1930-40s. Haunted by her past, a talented singer with a rising career copes with the pressure of success, a mother’s disdain, a patriarchal society, and the voices of doubt within her. The film also marks Irfan Khan’s son Babil Khan’s debut.
The Sex Lives of College Girls on HBO Max
Any show produced by Mindy Kaling about weirdo teen girls is absolutely a must-watch for the holiday season. It follows a quartet of friends who are thrown together when they become freshman-year roommates and begin to navigate their newfound freedom together. As the title promises, it does, in fact, deal with sex quite a lot, but in a fun, refreshing way that explores all the fumbling awkwardness of those in-between years where you’re not quite adolescent but not quite an adult either. And because this is a Kaling show, many of its best moments come when it focuses on the friendships between its core four. What’s better than that?
Tathastu on Amazon Prime
This has that charm of nostalgia mixed with bouts of laughter and lessons presented on the best storytelling platter. Zakir Khan takes you on a fun ride full of laughter along with some emotional moments that depict his journey of growing up in a joint family and offers an unfiltered peek into his life in the funniest way possible. It’s the perfect show to watch with the family this holiday season.
Freddy on Disney+Hotstar
If you get tired of having too much of family around, quietly make way for Freddy. We often see Kartik Aaryan play the role of a disgruntled partner/spouse in romantic dramas. However, here his character takes a rather different tone and the movie keeps you gripped till the end. Dr. Freddy Ginwala, is a shy, lonely, and socially awkward dentist who is living with the baggage of childhood trauma, hoping he would find someone he can settle down with. When he falls in love with Kainaaz Irani (Alaya F), he finally finds a glimmer of hope. But a twist in their love story turns Freddy’s world upside down. What will happen next? You’ll have to watch to find out more.
