Winter Skincare Tips

While we love winter for the holiday season, cozy sweaters, and hot chocolate, we don’t love how the temperature affects our skin. It seems as if overnight our skin goes from being nourished and plump to dry and cracked.
If you are struggling to maintain your skin during winter, we have a few winter face care tips that will definitely help you maintain your skin’s moisture.
Invest In A Humidifier To Maximize Moisture
In the cooler winter months, the outdoor air typically holds onto less water and is drier and colder so investing in a humidifier in your home or office will restore moisture to the air, helping to keep your skin hydrated.
Avoid Taking Hot Showers
Hot water strips oils from your skin and can leave it more susceptible to drying out, cracking, and flaking. Try to cool it on the water temp to preserve whatever bit of moisture you can.
Moisturize When Your Skin Is Still Damp
After your not-too-hot shower (or face washing), apply your body oil or lotion before your skin has totally dried. This helps lock in additional moisture.
Moisturize Your Lips
Lips can get extremely dry in winter as this skin is thinner and constantly exposed to the elements and our lips don’t have oil glands to keep them moisturized. It’s extremely important to take care of them.
Drink Lots Of Water
While we all know how important it is to stay hydrated we often forget to drink water when it’s cold out. But keeping your water intake high even during winter is essential.
Don’t Forget Your Sunscreen
You may not see the strong glare of the sun but never forget your sunscreen. The UV rays are still as harmful and we do tend to spend more time under the warm sun in this season.
Use Oil-Based Body Scrubs
Make sure your body scrub is oil-based to prevent your skin from drying out. Reduce the number of times you scrub your body in a week. Do not use body scrub if you have cracked skin.
