When Shah Rukh Khan says in the movie, “I don’t know who I am,” there was a resounding echo of  “You are the king!” Such is the power of the actor who has made a tremendous comeback after four years with “Pathaan.”

What this movie has shown is the unending love that people have for SRK. No matter how many protests were based on just the name of the movie or the religion of the actor, “Pathaan” is a super duper hit and no one can deny that.

The last few movies of Shah Rukh Khan left us wanting, but with this one, he has proven that he is indeed the king of Bollywood. An out-and-out action movie, that many are equating with the likes of “James Bond” and “Mission Impossible,” Bollywood has definitely given us something novel. We are pretty sure dialogues from the movie will be repeated in our conversations as we “will” as usual, try and ape SRK!

If you are a Khan fan, you will have eyes only for him, but John Abraham is perhaps one of the most drool-worthy villains we have seen in a long time. The back stories are believable (not like the fantastical stories of “KFG” or “Pushpa”) touching upon politically sensitive topics like the revocation of Article 370 in India and the status of Jammu & Kashmir. The patriotic touch was on-point.

Deepika Padukone is not just eye candy and that is reason enough for us to give “Pathaan” a huge thumbs-up! We see shades of “Lara Croft” in her, with impeccable action, glamor, and sexy all rolled up in one.

Also, the movie is not an all-out win of good over evil. The action sequences are good and though we miss the romantic side of SRK, we love how he matches punch for punch with John Abraham, who is obviously more of a hunk.

“Pathaan” is definitely a must-watch! Not just because of Shah Rukh Khan, but as a celebration of excellence from Bollywood, in terms of storyline, action, acting, and the simple ability to have successfully kept audiences all over the world engaged and entertained.

Kudos to Yash Raj Films for once again touching upon India and Pakistan relationship without hurting anyone’s sentiments and showing love for both.
