Karan Soni’s “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” Global Box Office Hit!
Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation’s “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” made an opening weekend North American gross of an incredible $120.5 million, more than triple the opening weekend of Into the Spider-Verse. The film’s gross makes it the second biggest opening of 2023, thus far, passing Guardians of the Galaxy 3, the best-ever opening for Sony Pictures Animation and the third biggest opening weekend for any Spider-Man film. The film is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a current 95% critics score and 96% audience score.
India opened to a stunning $2.8 million and set multiple local records for an animated movie – highest opening day, the widest release (2000+ screens), and most languages (10). Fans could watch the film in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, or the original English.
