Social Media Swoons Over "Jee Le Zaraa" Announcement

So Farhan Akhtar will be back in the director’s chair after a decade with “Jee Le Zaraa.” According to the official announcement, the movie will follow three women on a road trip and will star Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt.

Written by Zoya Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar, and Reema Kagti, “Jee Le Zaraa” is being touted as a follow-up of sorts to Farhan Akhtar’s “Dil Chahta Hai” and Zoya Akhtar’s “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.” Produced by Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby, “Jee Le Zaraa” will go into production in 2022 and will be released in 2023.

The perfect social media buzz was created when Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, and other stakeholders uploaded the video announcement simultaneously. Billions of followers of these stars saw it and it automatically became the hottest topic in town.

Farhan Akhtar wrote that he was elated to announce “Jee Le Zaraa” on the 20th anniversary of “Dil Chahta Hai” (makes me wonder why it took 20 years to realize that a woman-centric road trip movie can be made in Bollywood.)

We have seen the likes of “Aisha” and “Veere Di Wedding” touch on the subject – more as a bachelorette vacation. Indian web series “The Trip” featuring Lisa Hayden, Mallika Dua, Shweta Tripathi, and Sapna Pabb truly inspires you to travel with your buddies.

We have been fans of Hollywood movies like “Sex In The City 2” and “Monte Carlo.” So we are really excited to see another fantastic movie directed by the Akhtar siblings.

We only hope that by the time “Jee Le Zaraa” releases we will be able to take road trips just like the actors in the movie and not end up living the scenes vicariously drowning ourselves in the woes of the restrictions due to the pandemic.
