Whip It Up Wednesdays – Shweta’s Chocolate Walnut Cake

This week on Whip it up Wednesdays we bring you a recipe that will give you pure joy! Shweta’s delicious Chocolate Walnut Cake!
For any occasions or non-occasions, there is nothing better than a Chocolate Walnut Cake. This is a simple yet decadent cake that you can bake in no time. It can be enjoyed anytime-either with morning/evening tea or with ice cream along with chocolate syrup.
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Baking Time: 30 – 40 minutes
Yield: 10 servings (10 Wedges)
Ingredients:
- One and a half cup all-purpose flour (Maida)
- Quarter cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- One teaspoon baking powder
- Half teaspoon baking soda
- Quarter teaspoon salt
- Half cup unsalted butter
- Quarter cup sugar
- Four tablespoons condensed milk
- Three-quarter cup milk
- One teaspoon instant coffee granules/powder
- One teaspoon vanilla extract
- Half cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
- In a bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt
- In another bowl take butter and sugar, mix and cream together using a blender
- Add condensed milk to the butter-sugar mixture and again mix and cream them
- Take milk in a cup and warm it a little
- Add instant coffee and vanilla to the milk and mix well
- Add milk and flour mix, in parts, to butter mixture and mix well to form a thick consistency paste
- Add walnuts and mix well
- Butter the baking cake pan and pour the final mixture in it
- Gently tap the cake pan on the counter two to three times to dislodge any big air bubbles
- Preheat the oven to 360 degrees F
- Bake for thirty minutes
- Check the cake by inserting a toothpick into the cake and if it comes out clean then the cake is ready else cook for five more minutes and check again
- Turn off the oven and remove the cake pan from the oven
- Let it cool for ten minutes before serving
