Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 12 – 15 minutes
Yield: Two servings
Ingredients:
- Two cups shrimps (no tail)
- Ten to twelve garlic cloves (sliced)
- Three to four teaspoon ginger juliennes
- One small onion (sliced)
- Eight beans (chopped into two-three inch long)
- Two teaspoon cornflour
- Two teaspoon chili sauce
- One teaspoon soy sauce
- One teaspoon honey
- One teaspoon dried parsley
- One teaspoon all-purpose seasoning
- Three dried red chilies (cut into two halves)
- Salt to taste
- Three tablespoon oil
- Spring onion, cilantro and sesame seeds to garnish
Instructions
- Take a pan over a high flame and add oil to it
- Once the oil is smoking hot, add shrimps and cook until they turn crisp and golden brown in color
- Once shrimps are cooked, transfer them to a plate
- In the remaining oil, add garlic and saute for a minute
- Add ginger and dried red chilies, saute for one-two minutes
- Add onion and saute for one minute
- Add beans and stir for one minute
- Add shrimps and mix well
- Now add cornflour, soy sauce, chili sauce, honey, salt, parsley, seasoning blend and stir quickly for a minute
- Switch off the stove and garnish with spring onion, cilantro, and sesame seeds
Tips
- Keep the flame high throughout the cooking process
- Do not overcook the shrimps, they will become hard
- Keep all the ingredients ready in advance as all the cooking is on high flame and you will need to be quick
- You can also use vegetables like carrots, mushrooms, bell peppers, broccoli, and sugar snap peas
- You can use either precooked/raw frozen shrimp or fresh raw shrimps. For frozen shrimps, take it out of the freezer and place it in a bowl in the fridge so it thaws naturally or run it under icy cold water (not warm) just before cooking. Putting frozen shrimp in the microwave to defrost is not recommended.
