It is a common practice for many South Asian housewives to kill time at home while criticizing other women. Not many realize that blogging is actually a full-time job and for many a profession – as a legitimate source of earning. Many bloggers dedicate specific hours per day to gather content and then upload it on social media in a very planned manner. It does not mean that they are on their phones all the time. Time is money! After all, we all have families to feed, and especially those who live abroad have to work extra hard to make ends meet.

If Ishtiaq is working hard to provide for her family while managing her baby (did we mention, she cooks fresh meals for the lil one), then netizens must appreciate her hard work. Honestly, it is so easy to criticize others over the internet. Similarly, it is so easy to envy others. Her happy pictures do not tell us much about her struggles in life because those happy pictures on social media often cover up the harsh realities, however that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have her share of ups and downs, she’s human after all.

It’s time we remind you again that women must support other women. There is no right and wrong in motherhood. In fact, every mom has her own struggles in terms of postpartum depression, hormonal changes, deficiencies, relationship struggles, money matters, and whatnot! If a mother is not going to understand a fellow mother’s struggles then who else will? We often complain about how men do not understand the issues women face, but seems like women are no better at it.

A note to all those criticizing crickets: Just like Maryam Ishtiaq did not ask you before getting pregnant, similarly, she does not need your unwanted advice on how to manage her work and motherhood. If all women chose to waste less time while judging others, we all would have become as productive as her.

You Go Girl! Don’t let the trolls bring you down!
